Issyk-Kul and beyond: discovering the unrivalled nature & culture
About this tour
This tour is more than a journey – it’s a living encounter with a culture thousands of years old. Watch golden eagles hunt alongside taigan hounds, hear the Manas epic recited by an authentic manaschi storyteller, witness breathtaking horse games, and gather around a campfire as folk music fills the mountain air.
But you don’t just watch you take part. Assemble a yurt with your own hands in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, weave a shyrdak carpet with traditional ornaments, learn the steps of the Kara-Zhorgo dance, bake boorsok beside a clay oven, and pull fresh lagman noodles with local masters.
Burana Tower, the Rukh Ordo spiritual complex, the Dungan Mosque and Orthodox Cathedral in Karakol – every stop on the route reveals the centuries-long dialogue of cultures that still lives and breathes in this country today.
